Dr. Kamal Patel is a fellowship-trained interventional and non-interventional pain specialist at NeuSpine Institute.
Dr. Patel has spent years helping patients resolve their acute and chronic spine and joint pain.
Dr. Patel earned his bachelor’s degree with honors in Biomedical Engineering from the George Washington University School of Engineering and Applied Science. During his tenure, Dr. Patel invented a digital goniometer that is used to measure extension and flexion of a joint within 0.7 degrees of accuracy.
After earning his degree, Dr. Patel attended the George Washington University Medical School and earned his MD. During his medical school years, Dr. Patel worked at the Neuroendocrine Unit at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School to publish multiple papers and conducted research on athletes in the Boston area.
After medical school, Dr. Patel trained at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia for 3 years as an Emergency Medicine Resident. Around this time, Dr. Patel found an opportunity to move to Tampa, Florida for an Occupational Medicine Residency position at the University of South Florida. Within two years, Dr. Patel became the chief resident of the Occupational Medicine Residency and graduated with a Master of Science in Public Health from USF.
Dr. Patel also completed a fellowship in interventional and non-interventional pain at the Deuk Spine Institute in Melbourne, FL. At this position, Dr. Patel completed over 2700 procedures including kyphoplasties, spinal cord stimulator placements, and other minimally invasive procedures. Through his education and experience, he brings a unique and progressive approach to Pain Management and NeuSpine Institute. He looks forward to bringing these innovative techniques to his patients in Dade City and Wesley Chapel.
